Unfortunately brakes are apparently _not_ covered under warranty past the first maintenance point. When I called the dealer this morning, they mentioned rotors among items not warrantied, and the price they gave for just looking sounds quite steep.

I might as well go to a "real" brakes place, then if the problem is other than brake parts and covered by warranty, then have the dealer fix the problem.

Honestly taking it to a "real" brake shop would probably be better than a dealer, not as a knock against dealers in general, but lots of them aren't exactly up to speed on brakes.
