Broke radiator fan blade, waiting on part to come in ... In the mean while -

Well, I gone an' done it. As the title says - Broke 2 blades off the radiator fan, waiting on the part to come in my local store so I can swap. Pulled the fan relay so the out of balance fan won't shake my teeth out in the mean while.

I still need to limp around and have been keeping a hawk's eye on the coolant temperature to avoid over heating the engine - But I'm worried about overheating the transmission as the HHR in question is equipped with automatic. Any thoughts on how likely it would be to over-heat the booger while making sure my routes involve as much airflow through the radiator by ensureing as few stop lights as possible? My usual philosophy is when in doubt - park it - but the our vehicle is also down for repairs.

Thanks in advance!

If you were in Alaska I would say you might be okay. In Georgia, park it likes it's hot.

Yeah, definitely agree, it's been damn brutally hot here. Thankfully the new fan will be in tomorrow and it's been driven only VERY minimally and VERY gently to avoid any overheating issues.
