A/C Compressor Not Running
#22
Okay, a total of about 6 hours later, this project is finished. As promised, here are some pics and a few tips that may be helpful to someone.
The front cover really needs to come off to access the compressor.
There are screws and plugs along that need to be removed to get the cover off, but then these tabs had me stumped. Stick a thin screwdriver in and depress the tab to remove. They're at the front of each fender and on to the inside of each headlight.
Pulling the overflow tank up and out of the way makes it way easier to get to the bolt that holds the fitting on.
The condenser/ dryer is by far the easiest part.
The expansion valve might be the worst part. I had to remove the airbox to get to it. Then a bolt removes the fitting easy enough, but then two Torx screws hold it on. They are a pain to get out.
The results were good.
And help disposing of packaging is always good.
Thanks to everyone for all the assistance in diagnosis!

Nice work, and yeah I kinda forgot about that environmental stuff. I don't do repair for a living. I do warranty. And, we don't have many HVAC rebuilds at all...
Celebrate the day - whatever it is/was, it beats the alternative. (RIP- if you are slow)
