Camshaft solenoid or timing chain?

2009 lt 120000

Last fall I had the front and rear camshaft solenoids replaced. they have been fine till now.
Kid left the lights on. I had to get a jump.
the p00010 error came up on my check engine light.
I had it reset, thinking it was an error because of the jump.
A couple of days later it started to chug at lights. I filled it up and added lucas to the gas.The check engine light went off the next day.
3 days later back on and took it to the shop.
Now the codes show the solenoid error and a timing chain error. Shop says i need a new timing chain. ug
Can a bad solenoid cause a timing chain error because of the ****ty way it runs?
My car has run fine all winter, no sounds or noises.

Please advise.

Welcome to the site, please post the actual codes.
At 120,000 I'd change the timing chain anyways, preventative maintenance!

What is "a timing chain error" it has a number? There is no code that I know of that is described as that.

Many mechanics think a P0010 is a "timing chain error" from the description in the reader.

P0016, means the camshafts and the crankshaft are out of sync!
This is why we need those codes! Much better way of us advising as to how to spend your money wisely! And get that buggy running again!!
