Hello,

My 2010 HHR won't pass inspection. My mechanic can't clear the Check Engine Light codes, Here is a timeline of what he has tried:

- had check engine light fixed
-VVT solenoid replaced
-Cleared codes and have driven over 100 mi. - down to 2 codes
-Monitors incomplete Evap and O2
-Tried to perform service bay test to no avail
-No pending codes going into closed loop.

What were the codes, we can chase our tails all day, but those codes are the key.
it’s the drive cycles after the codes are cleared not the distance driven

 

The EPA says 2 incomplete passes.
The EVAP test takes about 10 cold starts to run. Most of the O2 tests run constantly.
What were the original codes? I have a feeling P0420 was one of them, it will come back as soon as the other 2 finish.
