I like to test the charging system with the engine running and the alternator mounted

12.8-14 is normal, you never mentioned 9.8V before. 12.8V being fully charged battery 14V being alt output. Charging probably kicks in around 12.3V.

Mine seems to be 14.4 volts with engine running at the CONTROL MODULE according to my scan tool

Mine is about that after start up, then as it runs some it settles down a bit.,.
