Chevy HHR - How to "reground" ECU

Hey folks,

I have the following codes on my 2009 LT
PO010
PO013
PO014

These are pertaining to intake/exhaust solonoids
My mechanic says that when these same codes have come up in the past he was able to "reground" the ECU and skip replacement of solonoids. I was informed that this cleared the check engine lights as well.

Can anyone confirm if this is in fact true? If so, how do I go about completing the project?

Oh how I wish sometimes that we didn't have a "naughty word filter", because your mechanic is full of BLEEP!

You can temporarily clear the codes from an HHR by disconnecting the NEGATIVE battery cable for about 30 minutes, but they'll come back.

Give a read to this excellent thread on how to correct the problem that causes codes P0010-P0014 by clicking the link below.....

And you might also consider showing it to your mechanic.

Are the correct part numbers for this install 917-215 and 917-216? Is it obvious which solenoid is for which position?

Yes those are the dorman part numbers. The connectors are different you can't plug intake connector into exhaust solenoid and so forth

Your mechanic probably didn't word it properly or was using his own 'terminology'. It sounds like he's basically saying that in the past he has cleared the codes and and they didn't come back indicating that it was just a temporary glitch. That's something I might try myself but I wouldn't pay anyone to do it.
