Clutch rattle

28,000 miles on the clock. For the last week when I let the clutch out at low speeds I get a stuttering vibration and a shaky rattling sound from the clutch area. Other than that the tranny shifts well and the clutch operates fine. Any one experience this issue?

Silly question, but you are giving it some gas as you let off, right?

I'm driving it the exact same way I've driven it since new. This vibration/sound has just started happening. I'm going to take it to dealership early next week and see what they say.

Have you thought about taking it to the dealership to have it checked out?

Sounds like the more often used term "clutch chatter" when letting it out.
The clutch disc has springs under pressure in the disc itself. If they lose pressure it can chatter.

Or if you get some hot spots on flywheel & pressure plate.. Another possible is a partially collapsing pressure plate.

I believe earl was referring to the tranny fluid.

Just to follow up. Finally had an opportunity to have this rattle checked out. The cause ended up being a broken rear air cleaner bracket. Replaced at no charge under bumper to bumper warranty.
