Code C0300
My advice is to only go with a GM one on those solenoids. I just don't trust the aftermarket ones, as I believe a couple people here have had problems with them not working out. and GM has upgraded them over the years - with 3 different part numbers for them so far. I don't know how Dorman ones specifically have worked out for members here. Oh, I could go use the SEARCH tool.
But tis late for the ol' man.

I did get the Dorman part number from searching the forum for the latest GM and Dorman part numbers.
Last night I did some reading in the GM Service Manual on error codes for the intake and exhaust solenoids.
Error code P0010 is strictly an electrical failure. It could be bad wiring, a bad solenoid, or a bad ECM.
Error code P0011 is a failure of the actual cam angle adjustment to match the commanded angle adjustment. It compares the comanded angle to the cam position sensor reading.
The error code I am getting now is only P0010, which means electrical problem only. The manual says a good solenoid will have 8-12 ohms of resistance. The Dorman I installed has about 10 ohms of resistance, which is right in the middle of the good range. So maybe I have a wiring problem, connector problem, or ECM problem. I will check out the wiring tonight.
If my timing chain was loose and causing a problem, the error code would be only P0011, which would mean the slack chain was causing an incorrect angle adjustment.

After my last post (a few weeks ago) I went to the HHR, unplugged the solenoid connector, plugged it back in, and then cleared the code.
The code has not returned since, the reader doesn't even show a pending code.
I'll just wait and see what happens.
I'm still going to replace the timing chain tensioner, though.
