Control arm stuff

Control arm stuff
I've figured out how to get the control arm bushing out and a new unit in.
Not too sure how to get the other things on.
Especially the sway bar bushings.
Also is it possible to replace the tilty thing with the 3 bolts on the end of the arm? I would like to swap whatever I can.
The new unit was much harder to compress..wondering if this will change anything with how the car runs after swapping
Crazy how this single part causes so much chaos.

That FE5 bushing can be pressed out, by the looks of the old bushings those aren’t FE5 LCA’s double check the diameter of the ball joint stub it should be 20.5 mm . There are replacement ball joints available from OTTP , you havd to drill out the rivets and bolt in new ball joints.
FE1 / 3 ball joint stubs are 19.1mm
FE1 / 3 ball joint stubs are 19.1mm

Is it possible they just swapped in standard control arms and wheel bearing? (Im assuming the one connecting item for the ball joint stub is the wheel bearing but it's been a while since I did one)
I will check when I get home.
Is this the one crucial part with the different diameter that everyone keeps bringing up?
Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't swap in the proper fe5 stuff. Lots of funny stuff on this car so far.
Is fe5 stuff just better performance/handling? The car handles extremely well compared to my LT. Could just be the 18" wheels though, LOL.

The FE5 stuff is really better than the other stuff.

I know this is about the 2006 model year , however the same procedure applies to the 2008 to 2010 SS LCA’s

Same procedure for changing the bushings and ball joints, they are not the same physically as each other.

The ball joints are attached to the steering knuckle.
The bearing assembly is also bolted into the steering knuckle.
As stated before the LS/LT and SS ball joints are of different sizes.
SS is FE5,
LS/LT are FE1 or FE3
