cruise don't work pain in the a$$ driving with out cruise control
cruise control quit working .The high mount brake light don't work also .First
I replaced all light bulbs in 3rd brake light. no change .Then went on and put in a new brake light sensor on brake pedal still no 3rd light brake light and no
cruise control. I also when changing out brake sensor had the battery negative cable off for about 45minutes.Please any help I have to go on a long road trip and sucks not to have cruise .Thanks

The cruise will not work without the 3rd brake lights working.
You seemed to have checked the normal stuff as far as your 3rd light problem is concerned. I got nothing to add besides maybe checking the wire harness going to the 3rd light.

I smell a wiring fault farther down the line.. Check close to the connections again just to be sure you didn't miss something, before you go removing the plastic shrouds and such in the back panel area. You could ask Garry (Speedwagen) about that. I believe he had a work-up on it that he found, and for the life of me, I can't remember where. Pretty easy realy 10mm bolts inside and all that jazz.. I hope this doesn't come down to that though dbldown.

Welcome to the site. The 3rd brake lamp has its own fuse and relay separate from the other brake lamps. The relay is under the hood and the fuse is in the inside fuse box I believe. I would check out those two before going farther into the wiring.

up date hey guys thanks for the quick response Doing some checking found that I have only 8 volts at the plug going into the 3rd brake light fixture.......... check voltage at bcm 2 bcm 3 have good 13.4 volts on the line side fuse .any ideas? This sure has me puzzled

Check the stop lamp fuse number 9 in the inside fuse box. There is also a relay for the 3rd brake lamp (CHMSL) it ether in the under hood fuse box or it is in a smaller relay box next to the under hood fuse box just forward of the strut tower.

to the forum!
I think Lucky has you pointed in the right direction, one quick question though.
When you changed the bulbs in the CHMSL, did you go with the OEM style #921 bulbs, or did you install LED bulbs.
There have been issues with LED bulbs causing problems.

Update
ok found two wires 1 red and the other green on the chmsl relay corroded and broke.Spliced back together and now have 3rd brake light. Cruise works great. The remote does not work at all.. Nothing will not lock or unlock, will not start the fob is dead.
So I tried rebooting the ecm for 1 hour. Still the remote does not work. Any Ideas ?
