Dash clicking

So I just got this 2010 HHR SS & every time I turn on the ignition I hear a clicking in the area of the gauges. Sounds like it's behind them. My 09 LS doesn't do it. Has anyone else had this?

Thanks.

More than likely you're hearing the fuel injectors cycling, the SS has a direct injection engine versus the multiport injected engine in the LS. DI engine are known for making an audible "ticking" sound, its normal and due to the higher fuel line pressures used on the 2.0 engines.

It's not engine related, you can hear all that outside the car, this noise is inside and only when the ignition is turned on (before the vehicle is started).

I have a 2010 SS also. I haven't noticed any strange ticking noises on mine. So how long does the noise last if you don't start it right up? Also when you say gauges, are you refering to the instrument panel or the RPD?

Behind the main instrument panel, the RPD is silent. (BTW, anyone re-mount theirs somewhere better?)

I guess it could be but it does it whether my foot is on the brake or not and it doesn't sound like the solenoid in my 09. Also, it's not when starting it's when turning the ignition on. I get the sound even when turning on the car after remote starting.

Really don't want to pull the dash apart to find out it's nothing serious.
