[QUOTE=Oldblue;943713]There should be one red wire, nice and clean and tight!

That’s it up there on the left. [/QUOTEI cleaned both wires and put them both back on as it was,
I tried tightening down the 4bolts and got almost full turn more, when I opened the door today there was no horn honking and could not get the key out of the ignition and no dash lights at all I put the charger on the top left red bolt and the black on the strut bolt and bang all dash lights came on and could get the key out ,tried turning it over nothing when I turned the key off lights went out and heard a quick small buzz and speedometer,RPM,and fuel needles moved about a 1/16 and settled back down to there original spot ,the charger showed half in the green,I have the charger on and am going back out shortly but I’m running out of day light,I don’t get home from work until 3.

You’ve got the charger positive on the wrong lug. Put it on the other one. Better yet would be to hook it directly at the battery.

P. S. Anyone who uses red wire for a ground wire is asking for trouble.

okay I will put the charger directly on the battery, I just figured if that’s how you boost it? Done.

How did a wire get from the fuse box to ground? That is outrageous and the cause of most problems, hopefully the car does not burn up. That is shorting the battery to ground. Thankfully the fuse blew.

As I tried to explain the fuse box needs to be tightened "way past fear of stripping".

You don't have to quote anything to post. use the "quick reply" at the bottom of the page.
If anyone needs to find out what we are talking about they have to scroll back 5 pages of one sentence posts. I'm not even sure what is going on now.

Here is a link to a free digital OWNER MANUAL. please read it. https://www.chevrolet.com/support/ve...manuals-guides
