What happened just before this started? Was it after or before you added that wire to the fuse box?
If you don't see my signature in every one of my posts switch to the "full site" or use your laptop. There are links embedded in my sig (signature) to check your recall status and for FREE Owner Manuals
The red wire was there since I bought the car,I removed it yesterday ,no difference so I’m thinking the last owner installed it,
I will check on my laptop when I get home,
Iread the manual and it mentioned a wore out key,
it all started with flashing dash lights and when the key was turned nothing happened,it did stall on the way home that day just before that the key would not come out but after turning the key back and forth it finally came out.
My question was really; what was done to the car immediately before the symptoms started. Like some work was done under the hood or some after market equipment was installed.
Dead battery will cause those symptoms a worn out key won't.
Are there 2 wires on the front fuse box lug? There should be 1 directly from the battery and 1 that goes to the starter.
The rear lug should have only 1 wire. it goes to the power steering. If there were 2 I have no idea what it could be for. If somebody wanted always on 12 v they would attach to the front lug.
Where does the red wire at the bottom right of your picture attach to on both ends? If it goes to the TCM and to the fuse box your TCM is fried.
The TCM (TransmissionControlModule) and the ECM (EngineControlModule) are under the black plastic hood. The TCM is the smaller of the 2. Some idiots on farcebook and youtube think running a ground wire from a hole drilled in the TCM to the FENDER as an extra ground solves world hunger and all other problems.
There should also be a red cover over the battery/starter leads on the side of the fuse block. You can see it in the fuse block picture that Oldblue posted. Not having it is quite a safety hazard. You might go to a wrecking yard/ auto parts recycler to get it. I would wait just a bit, though. Because if your fuse block is indeed fried, the cover should be included with the replacement fuse block.
