Update on my new battery - it's -32 celcius this morning. New battery started her up from dead cold (battery solid cold by now, too), and she fired up after 1 crank! The stock battery shows 600 CCA on the label - period, plus - again, I had worn it out with a big stereo and deep cycles over the past 3 short years since she was new. The Motomaster replacement is 700 CCA at 0 celcius, 600 at -18 celcius. Much better from the get go. Sure, a "battery tender" would help for sure, but a brand new battery works just fine too, and now no more worrying or dicking around.

That happened to me, but not big deal. There is a plastic cap that need to be removed to access to the cylinder. I just push a button and it did the trick. This is covered on the owner´s manual.

Do you have the model # of the new battery handy? and does it have the attachment for the vent tube?

Our battery is now pushing 6+ years so was planning on grabbing a new one from COSTCO if they have a compatible one - hadn't thought of Canadian Tire till you mentioned them.

Good luck with the new battery.

Yes , I noted the key locked into the ignition swich, when my battery died last April, I called AAA they were there in 17 minutes load tested the battery dead cell, replaced it and had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes, saved my vacation in Florida. I was going to walk to an Autozone I had passed the day before, turns out the store was over 6 miles away , good thing my wife is more stubborn then me!!

As he said, it's covered in the owners manual. If you don't have a manual, you can download one from this site.

Thanks for anwering that for him. I would have, but been busy with my brand new baby boy just born a couple days ago!

I can add that I was at Costco first and looked - nothing stocked that is compatible, even though it shows in their book (not even an empty spot on the shelf for it). All were that Costco brand "Kirkland" - probably a blessing in disguise as I may have bought it if it was stocked and probably kind of junky quality if I had to guess.

I should mention that I found my vent tube had snapped off at the battery - who knows how long ago! Only really been in there once before when I wired up my amp power, and that was back when my '09 was brand new. Been venting into the car... NOT GOOD! I was able to repair it by trimming it a couple inches under the break point and then zip tying a piece of rubber tubing in. Had to be very careful of length to avoid kinks, but ended up a perfect solution without buying a new one (junk anyway - especially in the cold I guess!). I used a very short length of tubing with a VERY tight zip tie used to close off the end to plug the unused vent.

Congrats on the newborn.

Yeah I had a look at Costco here - same thing (empty shelf - actually not even a place on the shelf marked for it, so i gather they don't carry it at all).

I don't know....I've never had any problem with any Kirkland product I've purchased. Never have bought one of their batteries but I'd venture a guess that they're made by one of the major battery manufacturers.
