Dealer replaced steering motor

How can one determine if they actually replaced the motor? Replaced under special circumstances warranty. What they called it. Motor has a Denso sticker on it.

There is a special extended goodwill replacement of the EPS motor, if it works, then it’s replaced!

Isn't trying to lock up while driving now but come to a stop and you couldn't turn the wheel with a forklift. Lol. Soon as you pull ahead any at all it kicks in and works.

You could take it back! If you aren’t satisfied with their work. Or get a bigger fork lift! I’m thinking take it back in have them address the problem. It might be a bum motor

The dealer didn’t do you a favor. There were bad motors, and they are supposed to fix that, either under a recall for some HHR’s or a VERY extended warrantee for others. Pretty sure it should be $0 in either case. That’s what many owners report, and I seem to recall one who complain about a charge and they gave him a refund.

Apparently there are some traps where the dealer can screw up the replacement if they don’t do their homework. Take it back and insist they fix it right.

All that said, if it won’t work at idle but it works when the RPM’s go up, that suggests a problem with the battery or alternator or maybe wiring or something. No Check Engine Light or codes?
