door wont open

I've been having issues with my rear passenger door. For awhile every time I press the unlock button on the fob I have to then relock and unlock it again for that door to open. Now when I tried to get in that door to day no matter what I tried it wont open at all, from the inside or outside. Any one else have this issue, or any suggestions as to what to do? I figured I could try taking the panel off but with the door closed not sure if its possible.

If the inside manual lock button won't unlock it, something must have come loose. One of those plastic clips might have broken or the latch itself might be bad.

A common cause for this is a bad door latch/lock. I think you can get the panel off, but some sort of collateral damage could occur.

Another thought is this. Keeping in mind the thin metal on the door skins, I would try to butt bump the door while pulling on the outer door handle. Even having someone inside pushing and pulling on the door might help.

Mine did that 2 years ago. First it was one back door then it worked, then the other back door quit, then they both quit. Last month it worked again for 4 days and it stopped again. I have yet to take the panels, carpet and seats out to look for the bad connection. Yep mine is a bad connection, it would still work if it wasn't, proved that after 2 trips to the dealer. I still have the diagram Chevymgr sent but I wish I knew the wire routing and BCM location to get er dun.

yeah even pushing lock button inside wasnt working and neither would trying to lock and unlock it manually. Later that day I went out to look at it and it was magically fixed and havent had the problem lately. I figure it will happen again I just have to give it time. Oh well I guess I'll cross that road when it comes along again.

It should work manually if it's an electrical connection unless there is some child proof system involved.

Sounds like mine, they had to replace the door lock assembly.
