Doors lock and unlock sitting there
well after 95K trouble free miles it happen. Stoped to get a bottle of water, hit key fob got in started eng. Had a call to make, while sitting there doors lock ? then unlock ? Three times then stop in the lock mode. Running but in park. Done with call put in R back out, put in D start to drive off starts to ding ding ding look at DIC says power steering, What ! Then I see speedo not working and not shifting into Drive. Shift into I gear start to excl. then shift to drive no shift stays in 2nd. Again door locks start locking & unlocking. Also air temp on DIC flat lined. Pull over turn off let set for 5m then restart. Same this time I see the the trans is in defalt mod start off in 2nd gear. still no shift. Being not 5 miles from home start to head to the house at 2500rpm in about 1min. look at speedo and was working being In I drive I shift to Drive. It shift fine until I slowed for a turn then would not shift up again. Drove about 2 miles then saw speedo back working shifted to drive all good till got home. Scaned said TCM lost comunacation. any body ! !
My first thought was along the line of Sleepers - battery.
Might be worthwhile disconnecting the battery in the trunk for a bit and reconnecting it. If you give that a try, disconnect the Neg (-) side, not the POS (+) side. It might reset the error.
Regardless, check that battery.

Yup, I'll concur with Whopper and Sleeper, sounds like the battery. Give it a "negative cable off lobotomy" and then see if it behaves itself or repeats the cycle. Also get the battery tested tomorrow.
Over night standing Battery voltage 12.785V, After load test 12.753V, Running 14.678V. Took off neg. cable for 1hr. Road test 40 miles stop/go 14 miles hiway. Good so far. Will let you know. Found this on you tube. Just what My trans. was doing.

Battery numbers look good. Look for a loose ground. Also check the connecters at the TCM and BCM. Make sure they are well seated as well as the fuses.
