The low beam on the driver side of my beloved HHR was gone, I noticed that when I was on road tonight.

I upgraded the bulbs from stock to Phillips Xtreme Power slightly more than two years ago, about 22K miles ago. It was noticeably brighter, but I did not realize the life is as short as two years. I did not drive much at night, but we all know the Daytime Driving Light is always on.

Since it's very pricey, $50 for a pair, I won't buy another set. I still kept the stock bulbs, and will put one back tomorrow.

 

bummer, but be sure to wipe the bulb off with an alcohol pad.
Even tiny fingerprint oils can cause short life in any of these head light bulbs.

 

For $75 or less you could be running a fully relay wired set of HIDs in there, not worry about it, and have about 4 gajillion times more light.
