DRL inop 2008 HHR

What is the top problem with DLR's being inoperative after 88,000 miles.
My car doesn't have separate DRL module. Could the problem be the sensor on top of dash or body control module?

How about the relay or fuse.

Also, and forgive me for what may sound like an insult to your intelligence, check the headlamps on both Low and High beams.

The bulbs could have burned out simultaneously, it does happen.

Check the bulbs as suggested above. They also have 4 individual fuses. 2 for low beams. 2 for high beams.

Check fuses and relays as suggested above.
DRL's have a fuse #31 in the engine bay fuse box.
Relay #28 in same fuse box.

To answer the question, What is the "top" problem ? There's not one. DRL's not working seems to be an uncommon issue in HHR's.

As far as a separate module. Nope. DRL's are controlled through the BCM. If the bulbs, fuses and relays check OK, then the BCM could need a reset, reprogram or replacement.( a BCM issue though is probably unlikely. I'll bet on the bulbs, fuses or relay )

I have a 2008, and I don't have any issues with any of my lights.. Sounds like burnt bulbs.. And make sure if you change them, not to contact the bulb with your skin so as to avoid getting oil on them, and causing a premature burnout.

Hi 2006corvette,

I apologize for the problem you’re having with the DRL module. It sounds like everyone on the forum is being very helpful! Have you paid a visit to a dealership to discuss this concern? I would be happy to provide you with contact information for a GM dealership if you’d like, as well as set up a service appointment on your behalf. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything!

I’m happy to help,

Don't take it personally Kayla.

Why would you apologize for something that you had absolutely nothing to do with?

Also, don't be sorry.

You might sympathize, or empathize, or even grieve.

SAMPLE: I am sorry, if I offend you. I took English Grammar in High School 45 years ago. I still think "words mean things".

NOT: I apologize for the problem your High School English Grammar teacher had.

Maybe somebody should write up a new set of cut 'n' paste responses.
