Yeah, that's what I meant. My HHR will do that after getting it out from storage, when it's been sitting for a while...

I hope the dealer is able to complete the engine swap in a timely manner.Good Luck.

BTW. Which football game were you headed to? Big Alabama fans down here.
ROLL TIDE!
It's all good, I guess I wasn't clear enough, but I meant progressively worse in that last bit of road, not over the ten or so days-

We were going to the Air Force season opener, GFs dad is an academy alumni, so we go to most home games- We'll make it up this weekend when they play BYU-

No word yet, shop manager thought at least a week, I won't worry about it until next week...

UPDATED:

Got the car back today- they replaced the motor as they said they would, everything under warranty. I'm happy, but will keep my eye on it from here on out... In the end, more of an annoyance than anything-

Glad, Gm covered it for you. Did they give you any info as to what failed? I still can't believe a low mileage engine like that would throw a rod. Especially, a 2.4!!!! On a SS maybe, but you said you've been gentle to the engine. Any pics from the carnage? It's a dirty little habit of mine to see destroyed engine parts and figure out what went wrong.

Did they find out what happened to the old one?

Glad you're all fixed up now

Glad to hear they took care of it properly. A friend of mine knows several people who have GM cars with ecotec motors, and mentioned to me that from his experience, this motor is one of the best that GM has ever put out. Your situation seems like an exception to the rule.
