Well, at least GM didn't give you a hard time or anything and they took good care of you! It's a shame that your motor blew on you so soon, but oh well, I'm sure the HHR isn't the only car it could happen to. Glad to hear your back in business!!

Thanks guys- the service manager didn't mention what caused the problem, and I didn't ask- I assume they didn't really get into the engine to see, they just saw it would need replacing, and did it. I wonder if they would send the motor to GM to see what the issue was (for their own reference)?

How often do you change your oil? 3000miles? When the dohicky says 25% left?

Usually around 5000 miles, I think the last time, the oil life monitor was at 45%, and that was more like 6000-
