X2 on checking the flexpipe like donbrew suggested.
And what exactly does "sounds like a timing chain" mean. Being a former professional mechanic, I don't recall any specific timing chain sounds that you can automaticly identify.

Trying to diagnose a noise like this over the internet is almost impossible without listing every possible source of the noise - and I don't think you want to get 500 suggestions on what to check.
If you want to diagnose it yourself you are going to have to get your hands dirty - jack up the drivers corner and crawl underneath and investigate - else take it to a shop.
Did you check the flex-pipe as suggested by donbrew?
