Good to know, even at that mileage , I recommend changing the timing chains and guides along with the waterpump! Like available in this type of kit

Over a water pump! I'm old enough to to remember my grandpa sell his car , he would say cause the ashtray was full!

 

WOW. Sell a car for a water pump (which can and WILL fail (eventually) in ANY CAR). I just had to say i am shaking my head right now. Even if you have to have it replaced at a dealer the cost would be far less than buying a new(er) car with a whole host of its own problems. I feel very sad for whoever purchases this vehicle if you fail to inform them it has a bad water pump.

 

He had a new engine installed under warranty in 2012 due to a major overheating issue that thrashed the motor. Sounds like he has just lost faith in the car.

 

I wish I could get that HHR!! I'm needing a new sled for Sweetie, when she's back up to driving!
