Anyway when you replace the battery in the Key F.O.B do es it need to be reprogramed or does it store the codes?

Just slide the old battery out, then slide a new one in, no re-programming needed. The fobs have no memory really, and changing the battery has no effect on the codes they transmit, so the vehicle will "know" them.

One thing to be aware of, the solder joints on the battery retainer are super fragile, so "slide" the battery out....never pry.

 

my battery holder was broken I soldered it, replaced the battery and no issues, with the codes

But,.... remove the circuit board from the silicone then GENTLY push the battery out of the cage. DO NOT apply any pressure on the cage, or you will break the solder joints.

 

I recently replaced the key fob with an aftermarket one that looks identical to the original. After it was programmed I got a message on the dashboard saying the battery was low. I went back to the store and they replaced the battery with a new one right off the display in the store. However the .message is still there. Does anyone know how to lead that .messages?

 

Welcome to the site, perhaps the new battery is low also? A voltage meter can verify that it has 1.5 volts

 

Just a FYI. Not sure if this applies to fob batteries but it does with AA, AAA, C's and D batteries.
I check batteries all the time with a volt meter. The ones mentioned above, when new and fully charged, will show around 1.62-1.68 volts. If I find a new one has 1.5 volts or less, I won't use it.
Guess I've got too many battery operated things and too much time on my hands.

 

I seem to remember that being a flaw in the ones that "look" like the original.

Was this the Dorman product with the programming module, or one that you had to take somewhere to be programmed with a scantool?

Any that "look" like the original that are not the same part number are suspect.

 

In response to my original post about the key fob, here is some additional info. The battery was replaced in the key fob 3 times and the message was still there. Yes this is a Dorman product. The original unit was replaced with a new key fob and still the same results. I called Dorman and they sent me one directly from their stock. This is the 3rd key fob, and the message is still there when the key fob is near the car.
