I just went out and tested the battery myself. Not sure I'm doing it right but doing it according to a video I found. I turned on the headlights for 2 minutes to remove surface charge, then checked with multimeter got 12.43 volts, tested while cranking and voltage went down to 11.3 volts. While running reading shows 14.72 volts. Does anything seem suspect?

Dead battery. Might need a new alternator; the output should vary some according to needs.

The drop to 11.3 volts indicates a problem

Thanks for all the help, I'm going pick up a new battery. I didn't realize 12.43 volts put it at 65% charged.

It’s sad, but it’s not 1964 anymore, all the computers and management sensors require full power at start up, it’s not just a matter of turning the starter and getting some spark to fire up the engine.
If the charge is weak, the battery is done.

Now that you have a known good battery get the alternator tested.
