Welcome to the site.

I'm guessing you mean CAB's, as in an abbreviation for control arm bushings.

(Fwiw. Punctuation really makes it easier to understand things on a forum.
I'm not complaining, just letting you know)

Engine Cover Noise

I had a sound similar to the one described as a 'rubber ball inside a coffee can' when I hit bumps. Turned out the plastic engine cover sits on two metal pins that engage rubber sockets near the back underside of the cover. Those had popped out so it would bounce around. Note, the bracket with the pins is flimsy. If you push down too hard it will bend and may be harder to connect to after that.

The bracket breaks often.

Smile front end bang when goin over bumps or steering too and fro

190K miles on my 2009 HHR panel and finally resolved the front end bang. OVER the years/miles I've replaced the struts and sway bar links @ around 100K (1st attempt), lower control arms which got the bushings and ball joints @ around 150K (2nd attempt) and finally replaced the sway bar bushings this past weekend (cheapest and easiest) - Finally victory! Sound is gone and as with each attempt handling improves back toward new. Loving my little HHR yet again.

So I've just started to fight this "front end clunk noise" on my recently purchased 09 HHR by replacing the sway bar links. I installed the Moog ones with the grease fittings. Sadly, it still clunks at low speed when going over small bumps. What is my logical next step, what should I try next?

Check the swaybar bushings, then check the rear bushings in the lower control arm.
