Front end rattling noise

I have been experiencing front end rattling noise for a while. I would usually notice it when driving at slow speeds on gravelled or uneven roads. Today I started hearing it when driving at highway speed around 80 mph. All suspension components are fine. I just replaced LCAs so I shock the hell out of everything to make sure everything else is in good shape. The car has 96000 mi.

Can it be right wheel hub?

Here are a few videos of me driving at highway speed and at slower speed on a gravelled road:

Could be, does it get worse when you turn the wheel?

That is not a rattle it is the bearing or a flat tire. I bet people are turning and looking at you funny while passing.

The first YouTube sounds like the constant velocity joint.

I’d start with the front hubs, but be prepared for the cv axles. I always recommend replace them both .

Did you check the sway bar bushing? they do like to rattle/knock at slow speed and rattle at high speed.

Yes, swaybar bushings do sound like that! I will have a look tomorrow.

I just replaced CV axles not so long ago. CV axles will cause vibration at highway speeds ONLY when you are accelerating. If there is no acceleration vibration will be gone. Also when turning they will make clicking noise. I was checking that today while I was driving. The vibration is there even when I am not accelerating.

I don't think shocks will not make any of these noise when driving on a straight road. The vibration is only felt at 80mph. If I am going slower, the car is driving fine.

Links are out as well.

The only thing that is left is wheel hub. When wheel hub goes bad, it makes different noise. As far as I know, it more of a howling sound. Certainly not thumping sound.

Lug nuts are torqued to 100lbs. Double checked that.

Tire are inflated to 30psi and are not cupped. It would not matter anyway. The noise I am having is heard on uneven pavement, so it has to be related to suspension components.

Warped rotors will only cause vibration when braking at highway speeds. That is out as well.

Hubs make a lot of different sounds. Yours sound like a square tire.

Could also look at the flex pipe.

You mentioned that you replaced the axles awhile ago, double check the torque, 155 ft/lbs.

Right side bushings are definitely loose. I was able to easily put a screwdriver in the gap.

When you replace them, make sure you get the right size - there is a difference in the early FE1 bars and FE3 suspension

From the Parts Thread at: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/comm...-part-i-48833/

- FE1:
>>> 2006 & 2007 production until VIN#3GNDA23P26S546471. Use GM PN 15822993 (which equates to a 23mm bar - energy suspension pn: 9.5159 (greaseable) - 9.5115 (non-greaseable))
>>> for FE-1 suspension after VIN#3GNDA23P26S546472. Use GM PN 20902784
(Note: my early early 2006 FE1 sway bar crudely measures out at 23MM so double check yours as the 1" bushings do not fit mine)
- FE3: Energy suspension poly for 1inch/25mm bar - greaseable - p/n 9.5161 (9.5110 non-greaseable) - OEM GM part number 20902784 (GM calls them Isolators)

- FE5: Energy suspension poly for 23mm bar - greaseable - p/n 9.5159 (9.5115 non greaseable)
------- GM - 20902785
