Tightend up the antenna base. Still leaks water. Going back to the windshield being the culprit. Going to try sealing it again

Ok tried sealing it again. Went further across the windshield. That looks like it worked. Got out a magnify glass and inspected the windshield. I could see where the glass looked different around the area of the leak. Almost like it is either missing sealant or the glass is delaminating.

Did you know that nothing will stick to cured silicone? So if you used silicone before, and then came back later and put more silicone over it or butting up against it, there is no sealing happening at the joint.

I didn't know that. I didn't go over any but I did go up to it. So silicone won't stick to silcone.interesting

The sealant/adhesive used on windshields is a butyl.

Don’s right about the butyl sealant from the factory, and RJ, silicone sealant doesn’t stick to silicone sealant!
