funny noise

The other day I noticed a funny noise coming from the front of my little ride.. it kind of sounds like something rubbing against the tire on the driver side, but nothing is there.. no rub.. the noise starts at about 30mph and seems to be a little whiny... I am thinking it is the transmission... i had an old ford that would whine like this when it was low on fluid or needed a band adjusted...
I checked the wheels, no play, no grind in the bearing...

If your sure its not the wheel bearing, check your lugnuts, then have your CV joint checked...could be a list of things from minor to major.

lug nuts
cv
out of balance tire
bad motor/tranny mounts
wheel hub/bearing assembly

are there any engine codes with this?

It sound the same going around corners, the sound increases with speed..
