Getting ready to trade this stupid POS car in...

A few weeks ago while warming the car up, I noticed the air only blowed warm until I started driving. Then when I was at idle, I noticed the air go warm again and the car started to heat up. After trouble shooting, the cooling fan will not turn on at all. I can not fin any bad fuses or relays. My 08 SS fuses seem to be different from the regular HHR and from the manual because the fuse locations are different. I hard wired the fan today and the fan still runs.

Either there is a fuse or relay I don't know about, or my ****ty computer took a dump... This is frustrating...

I was actually hoping for advice on the issue I described. If everyone wants to be smart asses about it, I will just continue working on figuring it out on my own.

Hope you get it figured out. Do you own a scantool, might have a message in there. Mine did but never threw a code for me to see but when they hooked it up at the dealership they found two things it wanted fixed. You have to admit they are fun when they run.

The stealership wants $90 just to test my fan control module. $240 for the parts itself. GMPartsdirect.com has it for $112, but I still dont know if it's the problem. I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary with HPTuners hooked up

Have you checked for the obvious things like loose/blown fuses, both under the hood and in the BCM? Like I said it's the obvious stuff, but sometimes we miss the forest for the tree. I know some have experienced a fan relay melting (IIRC I read in on here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it) which killed the fan. Maybe that's your culprit?

Later
Allex

EDIT: Nevermind I see that you're in that thread as well. Sorry I can't be of more help.

What is your coolant level at?
You may have a blown head gasket or a leak.

Add coolant until reservoir is full. If you overfill it, it will puke it out so don't worry. Seems like a coolant issue to me.
Once we find this is the culprit, we can troubleshoot as to WHY it occurred.
