I'm having the T/C light issue and hard shifting problem again on my wifes '06 2.4 with 80k on it. I'm getting a P0014 code on mine. My reader is telling me camshaft position actuator B bank 1 timing over advanced.

Dear Ktmrider,

Did you have the vehicle into the dealership when this happened in the past_

Has anyone here replaced the camshaft position actuator on the 2.0 hhr ss motor?

We told them to go ahead as our independent mechanic could not figure out the issue. We also contacted Chevy Customer assistance at the same time to lodge a complaint and see if anything can be done, the car was well outside of the factory warranty but shouldnt have problems like this this soon, it is under 100,000 miles and has been maintained well.

When they pulled the motor apart they said the head was warped and that was the reason it was having all of the problems. Chevy customer assistance did step up and cover the parts, and we have to pay labor but I thought I would share my experience with this very frustrating issue. We are basically getting the whole top half of the motor replaced. Hopefully when we get it back everything will be well again. Its a great car when it's not having issues!
I hate this car..... Almost exactly 1 year later it starts doing the t/c light and the hard shifting again but I'm not getting any CEL lights. I know I'm going to have to bring it in but it's beyond frustrating to get the whole top half of the motor replaced and have the t/c light and shifting issues again. It's also weird that it seems to happen mostly when it cools down, come to think of it I've never had the issue during the summer. I've had the car since 8 miles and it's around 94000 now, it's done this intermittently with the light and shifting the past 70000 miles or so. It's already had everything else fixed that was suggested so I have no clue what to do now.

Hard Shifting, traction Control light,2006 HHR

Does anyone have an update on the camshaft intake and exhaust solenoid part numbers? I tried to order from GM parts direct and only got the one part which they said 12628347 is now 12646783. The other, Part# 12628348 whcih was replaced with 12466784 was no longer available and they gave no further info.

The last info we had was:
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...=28779&page=11

--------- Original-----Updated
Exhaust 12628348 = 12646784

Intake 12628347 = 12646783

Just contact your local dealer - they will be able to figure it out for you.

CRD, 2008 SS, P0011, check engine light

This is my first posting, please excuse if the format is incorrect. We have a 2008 HHR SS. The car has been great, just turned 115,000 miles. Up until now it only required a battery replacement. Last week the Cel came on with one code, P0011. After reviewing the great thread it appears the most likley cause is the intake camshaft position actuator. I plan to replace both the intake and exhaust actuators tonight and clear the codes. Will post on the success of the repair. Sure is a pain in removing the air box. I had to cut down an allen wrench and turn out the fastners an eight turn at a time. But at least I know where the actuators are located.

The airbox just pulls off after removing the clips at the front of it and disconnecting the tubing. Shouldn't need to unscrew anything to get the SS airbox off.
