Headlight going in and out

My headlight went out a while ago so I replaced the bulb and it worked for about a month. After it went out again, I dragged my feet on replacing it and left it burned out for a while. Then, driving one night it came back on again randomly. Now, I've noticed it goes in and out. It's out more often than on, but that would imply it's not the bulb that's the issue. Any ideas on what the issue might be and how to fix it?

A loose broken filament touching once in awhile completing the circuit? Or the harness connector is burnt and intermittent. Or a loose pin in the harness connector . A new pigtail can address all those problems Dorman has them, most parts palaces and RockAuto are some sources

I had that pigtail melt down because a broken filament shorted and overheated the bulb and socket...

Headlight sure was bright for a little bit.
