Headlight that will not turn on

Hi! I have a '06 model and in the last few months I am having trouble with my drivers side headlight not coming on. My husband has checked the bulb, it's fine, but the light just won't come on...originally, sometimes if we popped the hood and the closed it, the light would come back on...he finally took it apart and can't seem to find an issue...no loose wires, good bulb, etc. Anyone got a suggestion? All of my other lights are working just fine, this is making me crazy, and I am tired of getting pulled over by PD for having a headlight out...thanks!

Welcome to the site. Do the high beams work on both sides? In most cases the bulb needs to be replaced even if the bulb looks good. There is also a fuse for the left and the right head lamp. The fuses are in the fuse box under the hood. Make sure all the fuses are pushed down and tight

Having the same exact issue here with an 08 SS, have you fixed it or could anyone chime in?

99% of the time it's a bad bulb on the affected side, turn your lights on manually using the stalk and switch from Low to High beam, if the bulb is bad you'll see it immediately.

Plus, check the fuses in the underhood fuse box as outlined above by Lucky.

That sounds like the filament is broken on one side only and still makes contact some of the time thus the coming back on when opening or shutting the hood.

I bought new bulbs for my pickup truck to get brighter lights and the drivers side was intermittent. Tap on the housing and it would come on. Both filaments looked good under magnification but when I switched sides to check for a possible wiring problem, it did the same on the right side. I took it back and got a new one and no more problems.
