To be honest, it was a shot in the dark. I had checked all of the grounds, the under hood fuse, the BCM, the starter, the alternator, and the battery connections. Thought to myself "If the new ECM does not work, I'm only out $30 to $40 for the restocking fee."

That's not proving the old part was bad. That called "Oh what the F". (Crap Shoot/roll of the dice)
How many other people on this forum just throw parts at the car to find out it didn't fix a thing ?

Then it’s an expensive way to resolve a problem, guessing and paying for parts.
In this case only 30 bucks or so. I relayed that was the statement in post # 16.

He still spent $30 for a part that maybe wasn't needed.
Proof is the way to diagnose and repair.
This isn't my first rodeo with correctly fixing stuff in the automotive field.

??? Maybe wasn't needed ?
Let's see. The car was running bad, quit, then wouldn't restart.
He came to the site for help.
He checked the things that were mentioned.
Decided to try another ECM..........and it started and runs fine.
Did he get lucky ? Who cares. The car is back running because of an ECM swap.

Please remember Cat this wasn’t your rodeo and I’m very confident in your capabilities and have never questioned them.

When I got one as a shot in the dark it only cost me return shipping, something like $8. I can't find the return policy for these people.

Also remember he was under the hood plugging things into wrong connectors etc.

We will never know the reason why, he just thought I’ll give it a try.
Fortunately, it worked.

I thought it stated that there was like a 20% restock fee, I was looking at several different websites so I could be mistaken. Also, I am unsure what you are referring to when I was plugging things into wrong connectors?

I got you confused with another thread.

However, now you really need to find the why the computer shorted out. Very rare.
