Well, the good-ish news is that there are 11 self service and full service salvage yards listed in and about Ocean City. The bad news is that today is Sunday, and they're all closed.

Her best bet is to head to a tire shop, and it being Sunday when you read this, it'll be a National Chain shop like Goodyear, National Tire & Battery, Firestone, etc.

They should be able to source a rim, although you didn't specify if the HHR in question has alloys or "steelies", she might have to settle for a steel rim in either the 18-Hole or 5-Spoke variety.

They are functionally interchangeable, except that the wheel covers for 18-Hole rims won't work on the 5-Spoke rims or vice versa.

Thanks for the info the people she went visit with had a friend with a couple of rims for sale off a 2011 hhr how lucky was that she got the rim and went to pep boys for a new tire Pep boys put the car on the lift to check for any further damage only thing they found was both lower control arm bushing are wore out need replaced car has a little over 37 thousand miles on it. I was wondering would a full size spare fit in place of the donut tire. Thanks Again

No a full sized tire doesn't fit back there, long story but I found out the hard way whilst on vacation once. As for the LCA bushings get a pair of Moog K200792 problem solvers that's one on the left in the picture!

It's not so much the milage but the age of the rubber ones! I used a ball joint press to change them .

Change 'em both, they go in pairs, and are not that hard to change

X2, always do suspension components in pairs.

Glad to hear she got fixed up with a rim, unfortunately, full size spares were not on anybody's mind when the HHR's left the design drawingboards.

However, if you don't mind losing the underfloor bin above the donut spare, and using the tie down strap(s) supplied by Chevy on a permanent basis, you can carry a full size spare.

But, and it's a very important "but", make dang sure the full sized spare, jack, and handle are secure. Having a 60-70lb tire and wheel coming forward and nailing you or your wife in an accident would be a very bad deal.
