Help!!! Wont start!!!!

So I recently had a Viper 791XVR remote start/
Security system installed in my 2010 HHR. a week later i go out and start the car and then i cant get the key out of the ignition cylinder. the car is in park and then i lose all power in accessory. now, i got the key out using the under the dassh plunger trick, but i still dont have any power when key is on. the locks work and the dome light works, but im not getting anything when the key is on run or start. then the key sticks again. is this a fault of the remote start, or is this a bad ignition cylinder? could it be a shifter linkage issue? or did my installer at best buy fry the BCM? please help..... STUCK AND CANT LEAVE!!!!!

I also removed the Viper brain to restore the factory controls and still get nothing.

If you can MANUALLY move the gear selector to Drive and Park and the key is not removable, I would GUESS it is the ignition key/switch. IF IT IS, there is a couple of TSB/Service Orders in regard to this. It SHOULD be replaced free by the dealer.

However, if the problem started IMMEDIATELY after the alarm install, it could be that as well.

start using a multimeter and check your fuses...sounds like a bad ignition switch to me

@Shanes0406, send me a private message with the VIN of your vehicle and I'll be happy to look into recall data.
