Hey Wait... it's DRY!
Hey Wait... it's DRY!
I was out in my garage the other day and realized that there was something very different... kind of unsettling in a strange way, as though your subconscious is aware of something that your conscious mind is almost getting its arms around.
I looked at where my SS is parked usually, then looked under the driveway where it was parked and looked under the undercarriage and under the engine bay...
and it hit me:
it's all DRY.
The garage floor, anywhere I park, even the undercarriage and bottom of the engine and tranny. DRY. No oil, no anti-freeze, no tranny fluid. Dry.
...been awhile since I had a new car! Hah. (yes, 6 years old is new to me)
thought I'd write about something to brag about while I had a chance

I have always been happy with the "no drips" from my 2 HHRs. Even the top seems to stay clean, except for the dust.
You think your 6 year old car is new. Our current DD is a 2000 Mazda Protege with 46,000 miles (not a typo) bought new in 2000. Paid cash from an insurance settlement from a totaled '97 Kia with 6,000 miles.

same here with both of mine. Two years ago while mine was in for the reverse gear i got to peak at the engine with the trans out you would have thought it had alot fewer miles than it did. 97,000 at the time and now 133,5xx
Nice ! A dry parking space is a happy parking place! 9 years old, 214,000 miles no drips !
Our 13 year old Sunfire GT, 217,000 miles with a 2.2 Ecotec, dry as a bone!! Just the way we like it!

The only thing that leaks on our garage floor is the wife's Fiat, because the dingbats at Stateline Fiat keep forgetting to replace the "must replace" copper crush washer on the crankcase drain plug.
So it goes all "Italian Car" on me and drips into an old baking tray unless the tray gets moved.

I have unfortunately heard bad things about those Fiats, sounds like just another top notch Chrysler product. the Engine in my HHR is still squeaky clean! Even just changed the original spark plugs out after 179000 miles and they even came out fairly clean!
If you take the dealer out of the equation, her 500-C has been dead nuts reliable.
It's just the dealership doing dumb things like re-using crush washers and the "not so smart" tech hopping into it with a screwdriver in his back pocket, scratch on driver's seat.
