HHR hard shift and air mass engine code after alternator change

I’m a novice when it comes to replacing things. My car was throwing a charging light so I got my alternator off and the parts store tested it and said it needed be replaced. Well after putting the new one on, the car now shifts really hard and there’s a new code that says air mass flow sensor. Do you think I’ve just not hooked something up right? I did take off the intake cover but I put everything back. Let me know what you think. Charging light is gone now. 2006 HHR. Really don’t wanna throw $70 into a sensor if I might have over looked something. Check engine light is on.

Which connector should I check? I only (thought) I unhooked and reconnected the alternator plug.

The air tube between the air filter housing and the throttle body.

And FWIW: The Auto Parts store can test the Alt w/out removal for FREE.. Or if you get a Volt meter you can check it yourself..
