hhr wont turn over ??

Check the starting system relay to see if it activates when you turn the key to the start position.

Let's do logic now.

The starter does activate when a hot wire is attached directly to it.
The relay is clicking.
No electricity being sent through the relay? Is there voltage going into it?

If not, why.

Here is a starter wiring diagram.

First check for power at crank fuse if you have power then check for that same power at the starter relay.

Then we can go from there

Badassbowtie just posted his HHR had a similar issue, his dealer claims it is a burnt ground wire but I don't know which ones or where

Oldblue! Broken eyelet....front of transmission. caused higher resistance...caused wires to burn. do you have a flickering CEL by any chance?

Well well well! The ground at the front of the transmission just below the oil filter to the right of the engine block, and follow that wire on up to the radiator cradle , both are 13 mm nuts.
Please double check them. I inspect mine every oil change!
