You need a Tech2 scanner.

Is the dealer the only one that owns a Tech2 Scanner? Would Autozone or any other Auto Parts store have one and able to perform the programming? How about mechanic shops?

I understand the key also is an issue, due to having a chip. Would any locksmith have the capability of programing a key for any car?

The key can be programed yourself in about a minute. The remote is what requires the scanner.
