how to test remote receiver in mirror
You can lock the door, without arming the system, by using the plunger on the top of the door panel. Then when you unlock the door, by putting the key in the slot and turning, the alarm will not sound.

On a 2006 it is behind the driver side rear seat under the quarter trim. Just like where we showed you in your other post about it.https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...-mirror-60110/

Bypassing horn alarm
I was going to replace receiver for alarm system. Found out most gargaes charge 4-6 hours to do it which I can't afford. Is there away to discount wire going to horn for alarm system . I have been looking at wiring diagrams but can't fiquere it out.
You never answered any questions about this alarm you speak of.
If this is a stock system the RCDLR is not part of the alarm.
If it is a stock system the alarm is armed when you lock the doors with the fob or the lock all button on the drivers door. The horn will blow if you open the door with the key.
There is no special wire from the alarm to the horn. The body control module sends a signal toi the horn relay.
