All he said it was is a Map Sensor so I have a feeling it could be. I did mention to them that I had the stage kit installed and the service rep did right on the service sheet that the stage kit was installed but I cannot help but be nervous that they may have ordered the wrong part.

Absolutely different! They need to replace with the appropriate MAP or they're digging a big fat hole for you and them.

edit: There are _2_ MAP sensors in the system. BOTH are a different part number for the Stage kit than for the stock system. They also need to make sure they get the right o-rings as some of the early o-rings supplied with the Stage kits were too small, and leaked. In addition, I am interested as to how they determined that you had a bad MAP sensor given what sounds to be their ignorance of the Stage kit in general. If they replace a "Stage" MAP with a stock one, the computer is going to freak out during system check at startup and shut you down before you've even moved. If they replace a "Stage" MAP with the correct sensor, but don't get the right o-ring, the computer is going to sense the leak and drop to limp mode. If they're just throwing parts at the car because they _think_ the MAP is bad because they are measuring it against what a stock MAP should be, you need to get your car out of there.

Well I have my fingers crossed and I asked how they determined that the MAP sensor was bad and they said the computer threw a diagnostic code and this morning I got my OnStar report in email and it said I had a engine problem I should hit the remote diagnostics for more information. The service rep said he did notice that the stage kit was installed and he said he ordered the correct parts for the stage kit and not the normal stock ones. I will be angry if they screw this up especially since I gave them a "heads up" beforehand.

Edit: I just got a call and they said my car is ready and I got a part # out of them which is 88988320 and I think that is actually the right part for a MAP sensor with the stage kit.
