Improved Gas Mileage
Try telling the Baron they don't work. If the only thing he did was that, then he has some serious clogging issues somewhere. Now you're getting the MPG you should. Congrats. Don't use it all the time , maybe 2-3x a year.
Frankly, if you really think a little about "red barons" issue, he has an anomaly. If his vehicle was getting that poor of mileage because of clogged injectors, or whatever, he would have had additional symptoms/problems other than poor mileage.....which he didn't speak of. No rough idle, no missing , no hesitation, no starting problems.....etc. etc.
Not saying that fuel additives don't work. Just saying that to gain 33-35% MPG is a "little out of proportion" to his simple explanation.

"But my question still stands (to FlyingRedBaron): what do you do with the spray Sea Foam?"
You use it to clean the throttle body. It has a tube that bends, so you can spray inside and under the butterfly. Some people capture the tube under the rubber air tube to do a complete engine "fogging". It's all in the instructions: Homepage - Sea Foam Sales Company

The Sea Foam comes with an extension nozzle such as with WD40. The nozzle is inserted into the air intake at the throttle body and the entire air intake assembly is reassembled. Start the engine and spray entire contents into throttle body while the car is at 2,000RPM idle. Then take it out on the freeway and drive "aggressively". Actually, I have found that in many cases good ol' common sense and experience will trump "scientific thinking". I prefer not to get cerebral and over- think things.
This sight seems to be overly-populated by sanctimonious, cynical jerks who want to play intellectuals and do not have enough sense to take some things at face value. To the one in Mesa, AR, you are 1,000 miles away. How do you know what is going on with my car? I'm taking my discussions elsewhere.
