Inside windows
Inside windows
Ok, it's cold. Does anyone else have the problem with the inside windows frosting up real bad? I have to start the car up, let it run to defrost and I end up with water and water streaks all over the inside of the windshield and side windows. Plus, I traded in a 2002 Ford F150 that got 14mpg, to drive a 2007 HHR that gets 19mpg. Some trade off.

Hey stu1011....
Did you post this same question on another forum? If so, did you perform the suggested solutions given?
It appears that the same resolutions are given here. Check for EXCESSIVE moisture retained on the inside of the vehicle.....most likely, as others suggest, a leak in the cowling area to the upper and lower firewall and floor carpeting.
Have you discussed this iisue with your dealer???

Me again. The only moisture I have in the carpeting is the melted snow that fails to stay in the all weather floor mats that were made for the car. No leak here. Maybe its just that causing this.
Ok..just checking !!! So you're the second owner (I know of) that has mentioned this problem. The other owner, on another forum, is in Illinois also.
If the condensation is freezing to the INSIDE of your windows, I would think there must be excess moisture someplace. It's a lot of work and a pain but, I would try removing and emptying the moisture from the mats, maybe even towel drying them. If your problem doesn't correct in a few days, then I would check elsewhere.
I guess you're down to a process of elimination.
Keep us informed.
