I agree Firemangeorge - it becomes counter-productive after a point.

Sorry I am being blunt, but this kind of situation drives many of us nuts.
Personally its driving me nuts as well. The mechanic the did it, my dad, I showed him this website and ask him to look it.His stubborn old fashioned tale said he doesn't need that because he know what he is doing. Now my new car is possibly messed up because of this. The only other mechanics I know in my family I dont trust because they stubborn as well. I asked family mechanic so I dont have to go to a shop and pay for it.

Then the answer is pretty obvious - find a REAL mechanic and pay for it. If you can't pay for it right now, park it until you can.

To answer your question about the wiring, yes a yanked wire can cause issue, it's on your father's dime now
