Intermittent temp gauge and A/C problem

OK, back to my problem..... I just changed the thermostat..... the inner rubber gasket was torn to hell, so that looked promising.... NOPE, still no temp gauge function and no A/C!!

The temp sensor, maybe? Same area. Or, maybe the wires going to the sensor.

If the Check Engine Light was on at the same time, disconnect the NEGATIVE battery post in the trunk for a minute or two to reset the CEL. The displays can be disabled by the CEL.

No MIL, but I changed the sensor right after I posted last and it took about 30 seconds, but started working. So far so good. Unfortunately, it was an intermittent problem, so I guess I just have to wait and see if it happens again. Got my fingers crossed! Thanks for the help!
