Issues w/ dealer not the car
Issues w/ dealer not the car
So the last week of july the ss went in for its 3 month check up. I wanted them to 1) look at the open recall on the shifter 2) replace front driver side rim as chrome was coming off 3) add aux brake pump 4) touch up paint from driver side windshield wiper hitting hood. Well wife took it in and I figured they would look at it and order all the parts, but they told her after about 45 min that they will fix it and have it done in 3 hours. I though they must have had the brake fix stuff on hand and that was what they were doing. well 4 hrs late get a call saying we had to order the stuff and then they could fix it.
Well today it went in to get the brake and rims taken care. Appointment was set up monday for this thursday (today) at 10:00 and they would have a rental. Wife dropped it off and the guy said, "I didn't think you were coming today" and they did not have a rental. Well they told her 3-4 hours and it would be done. Called at 3ish and said they ran into probs w/ another vehicle and it would not be done till tomorrow. they did not close until 6 which would have given the 8 hours to finish it. So we have a very crappy cobalt ls 'til tomorrow, but atleast we got a rental.
This is the same dealer that said they could not adjust adjust the windshield wiper and that the stage kit would void the warrenty. Sorry for the rant but are all dealerships like this or just mine? This is the 1st time dealing w/ a dealership as it is first new car. I take my other cars to my local mechanic. It is just very frustrating that they cant set an appointment right and then keep the car for way longer then they need. And I think my wife is getting pissed even though she wont say it, as she has now wasted 2 days off w/ no vehicle. Her taking it in on her days off works the best for us. I have another chevy dealership that is actually closer and they are getting the car the next time around and they are closer anyways.

After the Stage kit and wiprers I would not have gone back.
Not all dealers are like that in fact most dealers are fine but you always have one that is not up to standards. Many of these will not be here in a year anyway with GM closings.
Go to a new dealer and you will be suprised.
My dealers told me they had to confirm my SS was in need of the kit then order the parts. Well by the time I came in they had already got the parts and a loaner ready for the day. Any other issues they have taken care of all of my needs and done them to the degree that has made me happy.
Doug Chevy here is Akron has been the best dealer I have ever delt with not only in the sale but service. They sold me two cars last year because of it and will sell me a new vehicle when it is time to replace the wifes car.
There are a lot more Doug Chevys around the country that deserve your support and the dealers like yours will fade away in time.
Note everyone has a bad day or job that gives them trouble, it just happens. But on the other hand there is never a good reason to lie. Once a dealer lies That is it. Your first trip would have finished my dealings with them.

I agree with the others, bad dealership. At least the service department. It's been my experience that if there are that many problems, talking to service manager or general manager will not help.
Any Chevy dealer can order parts and service you car. The only reason I went back to the dealer I bought mine from was the guys at the parts counter were amazing! Sales department sucked and the service department was even worse. Wasn't a big surprise to me when it closed. I only used them for buying parts.
