LEDs as plate bulbs

The fact is that the suppliers think that if you are ordering it, you must know what you are doing so they don't bother printing anything.

so how do you explain people who run LEDs without resistors and they work fine for years....just lucky?

so how do we know what the max current is? are there LEDs that take more current then others and work fine without resistors?

Specs are published.
Depends on your definition of "works fine". I would prefer to have them "work as designed".
