The first thing to ask is: have you tried high and low beams?

The 2006 has pretty much "old fashioned" wiring. Each bulb has 2 fuses. there is a low relay and a high relay.
If you routinely use the fog lights you won't have high beams at the same time. It is programmed so the highs are inhibited when the fogs are on.
I'm not sure if the flash on unlock is the high or low, but not a good measure of "good bulbs".
If the bulbs are good and the fuses are good the connector or wires is bad. The mechanics probably know what a pain changing bulbs is.
Yes I have tried both, high beam works.
I know that the fog lights turn off if I turn on high beams because I had to drive with fog lights and when nobody is around at night turn on the high beams (I live in a pretty rural place).
But anyway, thanks everybody for your help, it was the bulb. It came today and I changed it and now it works.
It was a pain though, wish it was as simple as in the video. Out of the 4 bolts the guy is talking about I only had 1, the others were fixed with screws. Also quite a lot of the retainers are missing. However the bigges problem was that the cabling is too short. Unlinke the guy in the video I was not able to pull out the bulb with the wires and just let it hang. I had to literally force it out and was afraid of breaking the glass bulb, same way in but I did manage somehow.
Did you make sure to get the old rubber gasket out? It usually sticks to the housing making it very difficult to get the new bulb in.
Most auto parts stores have replacement plastic rivets.
Umm I'm pretty sure there was no gasket there at all, nor did one come with the new bulbs. Altought I didn't check the backside of the house as I didn't have enough space to see the back of it.
Oh yeah I still had the old one. Gasket didn't look that bad, as I said it was more the lenght of the cables running to the lights that made it difficult to change it.
Also a quick question if you could still help me out. I'm at literally 1% before oil change and I drive about 80-90 miles a day so its kind of urgent.
I read in the manual that I need an oil thats SAE 5W-30 and that it also meeting this standard: GM6094M.
Obviously I won't be able to find this here in Europe. Do you think this oil could work? (Oil filter already arrived):
It says on the back its for OPEL/GM and that its GM dexos2, but the above mentioned GM6094M I did not find.
Dexos is the new name for the old designation. I would stay away from oils that are labelled "for high mileage", they contain additives that can be harmful.
Almost all synthetics and synthetic blends are Dexos. The important part is 5W-30. Don't get a lot of angst over when to change the oil.; the engine will not self destruct if you miss by a thousand or 2 miles. Not a world ender.
You have Opel in Germany, that is GM in Europe. The Ecotech engine is derived from Opel.
Yeah I mean I know probably nothing will happen, I just don't know when I will get time off of work after this week.
I found couple ones with 'high milage' but I ruled those out. This one doesn't say though, I'll just go with this then.
